While it could sometimes be a cold place, KJBR really was like a family, especially compared to what corporate radio stations are like these days. I became very good friends with many of my co-workers and learned a lot from them. Unfortunately I only photographed a handful of them, but have included those here. KJBR also had an AM sister station, KBTM-AM 1230, that most times was automated, running national talk and news shows. Take a look at what high-tech automoation used to look like back then. When I worked several months filling in as news director while Christie Mathews was out on maternity leave I'd also anchor a daily 10 minutes cast on KBTM. |

I'd frequently come in early just to hang out with him before my shift. |
