Heard nationwide on CBS Radio News and the Westwood
One program America In The Morning reporting stories from South
Florida. Starting in March 2000 I covered several big stories, including
the Elian Gonzalez dispute, the 2000 Presidential election recount,
the anthrax attack at a tabloid publisher and Florida's connection to
the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

 |
Reporter and anchor for two years, starting in March
1998 for WIOD, Miami's top English speaking news station. I covered
several high-profile stories, including the Elian Gonzalez custody fight
and the trial that resulted from the 1996 Valujet crash into the Florida
Everglades.

Anchor of traffic reports for radio and TV stations.
I started in March 1997 at the Richmond, Virginia office, working as
morning producer and midday traffic anchor. That September I transferred
to the Miami office, where in addition to traffic, I also anchored newscasts.
|
 |
Afternoon drive news anchor starting in January 1997
for the Virginia News Network, heard across the state on 55 affiliate
stations. I was also the Friday evening anchor for WRVA, Newsradio 1140,
Richmond's top-rated news station.

 |
Free-lance writer and photographer preparing hard news
and feature articles for this bi-weekly newspaper. I wrote two cover
stories, as well as CD, concert and book reviews.

 |
As part of an independent study class in 1995 I hosted
an award winning weekly half-hour interview program on this public radio
station. I also became fill-in morning anchor for the NPR station, doing
local newscasts during Morning Edition. I also filled in hosting
jazz programs.

Starting in May 1993 I worked as a news anchor and
reporter for Little Rock's top news station and the Arkansas Radio Network,
with 65 affiliates statewide. Here I learned how to put newscasts together,
report hard news, cover stories in the field and I started filing for
CBS.

Interned five months in 1993 in Washington, DC helping
to produce the weekly public radio program "C-SPAN's Weekly Radio
Journal." It proved to be an invaluable learning experience that
redirected me toward news.

Worked overnights, starting in October 1991, at this
powerful, hard-edged pop station in the college town of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
But the first steps of deregulation led to a new owner and gave me a
preview of what was to come with radio consolidation.

 |
Even though it was another small town station, K-105
was very professionally run, carefully programmed and actively involved
in its community. I was evening DJ for this adult contemporary station
in Paragould, Arkansas, starting in October 1990.
|
 |
DJ at this AM-FM country music station in England,
Arkansas. I started part-time in August 1989, working my way up to full-time
evening personality.
|
 |
My first real radio job in 1989 playing country music
at this small town station in Benton, Arkansas. But financial troubles
at KBBA gave me a harsh introduction to this business.
|
 |
Volunteer host of a weekly alternative rock program
from 1988 to 1995 on this powerful community radio station in Little
Rock, Arkansas. The station kind of spoiled me because I've never since
had that kind of freedom to play what I wanted and have friends on the
air with me.

I developed an interest in radio before I even started
elementary school. As I grew older a love of music solidified my desire
to be on the air. A high school radio class taught me enough to get my
first job and begin getting some real experience. |
